Permission Sets determine which permissions belong to an Organization Role.
Types of rights:
Where to find them:
Authorization Framework → Permission Management → Permission Sets
Here you can see:
Click: 'New'
Fill in:
Go to Fasttab "Objects" and add permissions (requires Business Central knowledge).
The Permission Set Recorder in the Authorization Box has been replaced by our (free) Compliance Advanced Permissions Recorder app in Business Central.
As of the 2024.10 release of the Compliance Essentials app, the recorder functionality is no longer available in the Authorization Box.
For older versions of the Compliance Essentials app, the functionality remained available until 2024/12/31.
The Compliance Advanced Permissions Recorder app can be downloaded from the AppSource or from our Partner portal.
Sometimes certain Permission Sets always belong together, in which case it's easier to create a Permission Set Group to assign them together.
E.g.: "Sales_View" + "Customer_Read" + "SalesOrder_View"
To create a Permission Set Group go to:
Authorization Framework → Permission Management → Permission Set Groups
Click: 'New'
Now this entire Group can be assigned in 1x to an Organization Role.
The Permission sets are being cached for performance reasons.
When signing in to the Authorization Box or when switching connections, the system checks when the cache was last retrieved.
If it's older then a day, the cache will automatically be refreshed for that connection.
There is also the possibility to refresh (all) the cache(s) manually.
Go to Setup → Data caches.
Click the refresh/reload icon of the entity “Permission Sets”, refresh the page to see if the caching has been performed successfully.
