To improve the performance of the Authorization Box, we cache Business Central data to minimize the amount of traffic to Business Central.
The Objects and Permissions are being cached in the background, as much as possible and are updated once every 30 days.
The caching of the Permissions and Objects could result in some outdated data when you are setting up critical permissions, templates or permission sets.
When it looks like you are missing some data with the set up, you could opt to refresh the cache manually.
However, you would have to take into account that this could take some time before a full refresh is performed.
Whenever an action has taken place in the Authorization Box, like for instance a user synchronization, the Users cache and Access Controls cache will also be updated immediately for that specific user.
This way a user will see the changes made to a user, without having to refresh the caches manually.
The Access Controls are being cached in the background, as much as possible and automatically started when a user logs in on a connection.
The Access Controls, Permission Sets and Users cache are being cached once every 24 hours.
Should the synchronization log be more recent then the Users cache and/or the Access Control cache, these will be updated as soon as a user logs on to the Authorization Box.
The Permission Sets and Users cache were already released on May 15th 2024 and July 18th 2024.
The caches can be refreshed manually on their overview pages as mentioned in this wiki on the page of Authorization Management (link to permission sets cache, link to users caching)
As of our January 16th 2025 release, the Permission Sets cache will be automatically updated too after a user has created, updated or deleted a Permission Set.
When there is no connection with the database, the updating of the cache will not succeed.
After the connection has been reestablished, it might be necessary to update the cache manually.
Having taken this into consideration, it is possible to start a manual refresh through Setup => Data caches.
